The 10 Best Liquid Lipsticks I’ve Tried to Date

1. Sephora Collection Creme Lip Stain

Does it last all day?

Yes. I remove during food time and reapply.

Is it comfortable, and not drying?

Yes. I often forget that I am wearing it.

Does it transfer?

Slightly

Does it apply evenly and opaque?

Yes!

2. Kat Von D. Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

Does it last all day?

All damn day

Is it comfortable, and not drying?

I apply lip balm before using this. Some may find it drying, but it doesn’t bother me. The shade, Project Chimps has a different formula and is more moisturizing.

Does it transfer?

Nope! I can eat and drink and be merry without it getting all over everything.

Does it apply evenly and opaque?

Yep! I find there is consistency in the range. 

3. ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip

Does it last all day?

Yep!

Is it comfortable, and not drying?

Some colors are more drying than others. I also wear lip balm with these so for me that isn’t an issue.

Does it transfer?

It certainly doesn’t. I rarely have to reapply these.

Does it apply evenly and opaque?

Most of the colors go on opaque, while some are semi-opaque but can easily be built to opaque. There are also some colors that are quite streaky (think pastels) but didn’t work for me anyway.

4. Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge

Does it last all day?

All. damn. day

Is it comfortable, and not drying?

Like the Sephora Collection Lip Cream, I often forget I am wearing it. As the lipstick itself ages, I find it gets more tacky.

Does it transfer?

Nope! Not on cups and not during eating

Does it apply evenly and opaque?

Evenly yes, opaqueness depends on the color. I opt for two coats to get the coverage I prefer.

5. Make Up For Ever Artist Liquid Matte Lipstick

Does it last all day?

It lasts on me until eating. While there is still plenty of color left, I remove and reapply, although reapplying over the old works just as well.

Is it comfortable, and not drying?

It is very comfortable.

Does it transfer?

This lipstick transfers slightly onto cups. This was the reason this newest version of the brand’s liquid lipstick came after the older, more superior one. I find it is also thicker in consistency.

Does it apply evenly and opaque?

It does! While I prefer two coats of the Aqua Rouge, one coat of this gives me even, opaque coverage.

6. Guerlain Maxi Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick

Does it last all day?

Not particularly. While it doesn’t move if you don’t bother it, it does need reapply after eating.

Is it comfortable, and not drying?

Super comfortable and moisturizing.

Does it transfer?

Yes, it transfers on to cups and people.

Does it apply evenly and opaque?

It goes on semi-opaque and smooth.

7. Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid Lipstick

Does it last all day?

Sure does

Is it comfortable, and not drying?

These are some of the most comfortable liquid lipstick out there

Does it transfer?

Slightly, on the inner lips over time

Does it apply evenly and opaque?

I use two coats to get the desired coverage.

8. Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick

Does it last all day?

All day until eating. Reapplication is kind of a pain

Is it comfortable, and not drying?

The most comfortable I have ever tried… well it’s going head to head with the Sephora Lip Cream above.

Does it transfer?

Nope!

Does it apply evenly and opaque?

The colors I tried did, but almost too opaque because they were so bright.

9. Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet

Does it last all day?

Not all day, but definitely all throughout the work day

Is it comfortable, and not drying?

These are very comfortable. Not drying at all

Does it transfer?

Yes, it does.

Does it apply evenly and opaque?

Oxblood did with one coat, Brilliant Violet needed two. Seems like it depends on the color.

10. ColourPop Ultra Satin Lip

Does it last all day?

Neigh. They last longer than your average lipstick, though.

Is it comfortable, and not drying?

These are a tad bit moisturizing.

Does it transfer?

It does. You’ll need to reapply after meals

Does it apply evenly and opaque?

Some colors perform better than others. The ones I have experienced are opaque with one coat.
