I was so excited for the launch of the new colors of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks ($20.00). After careful examination of the colors on the Sephora website and stalking the Kat Von D Beauty instagram, I decided on Mother and Double Dare (review to come).
Mother is described as a dusty mauve pink but on me it’s more like a hot pink. When I swatched Mother, it came off as super bright and neon looking, but after a minute or two it dries down matte and looks much much better.

I kind of want to say something about the formula has changed, but I could be wrong. I still don’t find it drying (I use EOS lip balm beforehand) but I did notice a difference in application. Unlike Outlaw, Bauhau5, and L.U.V., Mother doesn’t seem to be as opaque. It applies a little streaky, and I always opt for an additional coat for full coverage. My assumption is that because it’s a lighter color than those, that’s why this is happening.

One other thing I noticed was regarding longevity. It definitely has the ability to last you all day and night, but I found after eating I experienced major fading on the inner portion of my lips. In general, you should be wary of oily foods with liquid lipstick, but this seemed like it faded substantially more than the others. Reapplying right over the old still works very well so it’s no big deal.

I was actually in the market for a pink lipstick, so I’m glad my favorite brand of liquid lipstick had one that works for me! Hopefully, this won’t run out on me too soon from having to apply more, but I would definitely repurchase.
