Today I wanted you all to take a gander at the Milk Makeup Bestsellers Kit. The products are mini versions of some of Milk Makeup’s bestsellers in a cayuuute little pouch I’ve been using as a compact little makeup bag. The kit comes with:
Mini Kush Mascara (reviewed here)
Mini Cooling Water Under-Eye De-Puffer Stick
Mini Watermelon Brightening Serum (reviewed here)
Mini Blur Stick Matte Primer
Mini Lip + Cheek in Werk
Mini Highlighter in Lit
Mini Holographic Highlighter Stick in Supernova
First up is the Mini Lip + Cheek Stick in Werk. Werk is described by the brand as a dusty rose. On me, it’s lightly pigmented, creamy, and somewhat buildable. Ladies of the lighter skin tones should have no problem getting this shade to show up on them. On my cheeks, this was a little harder for me. The full-sized stick is available in five shades, three of which I think would show up on my skin tone without any problems (Berry, Mauve with Shimmer, and Pink)!

The two highlighters in the set are fantastic! I previously swatched the holographic highlighter, Supernova, a while back and thought it was beautiful. Lit is what I am wearing on my cheeks in the photo below. I love how subtle and natural the highlighter looks. Swatched on my arm, it did seem kind of blingy, but on my cheeks and blended out it’s beautiful and buildable. I applied Lit directly to my skin and it did not disturb my base, which I thought was quite impressive. I blended it out with a highlighter brush and layered as desired.

Finally, I’ll talk briefly about the skin products. I previously reviewed the watermelon stick and my thoughts haven’t changed on that; don’t expect overnight results with this (or with any skincare product, for that matter). I used the watermelon stick right after the cooling-eye stick, which I thought was neat for my puffy eye bags in the morning. I’m debating on getting one of those little mini-fridges I’ve been seeing in Instagram; I think this would be great in the morning right out of the fridge, because if I put it in my actual fridge in the kitchen, I might not go use it! I previously wrote about the Blur Stick in the Sephora Selfie Kit I picked up a while back and used it underneath my eyes which didn’t turn out well. This time, I used it as intended, as a primer, and it was just ok. It certainly blurs temporarily to a matte finish and sort of settles as a powder, but I do find I still need to use powder mid-afternoon.

And here’s a look using most of the products:
Wearing Werk on Lips and Cheeks; highlighter in Lit on cheeks and down the bridge of my nose. I’m wearing the Becca Skin Love Foundation and on my eyes is the Dior Undress Palette and the Kush Mascara |
I previously reviewed the Kush mascara and I still reach for it quite often. I’m actually surprised I haven’t had to throw it out yet! This little mini has a smaller brush so that does affect the way I have to apply the mascara, and is great for travel. I recommend the set for the highlighters and mascara alone as they are the showstoppers in the kit. It goes for $39 and can be found at Milk Makeup and Sephora.
