Oftentimes, I get discouraged blogging for many reasons and sometimes question if beauty blogging is still necessary since certain people receive lavish PR packages that gives us all the swatches we will ever need. Even brands do swatches now… I got the ColourPop lil lippie stix free with purchase from ColourPop and I checked the swatch and it looks nothing like what it actually looks like on my lips. The ColourPop swatch looks like a deep wine color; on me it’s a bright rosy shade, consistent with their description but so totally off compared to the swatch. Confusing since they do swatches on three skin tones… independent blogging is necessary! On to the review!
My skin type
I’ve got dry lips that often peel sans lip balm.
How I use it
One swipe results in full-coverage, creamy color. While it’s forgiving to dry, peeling lips, I use lip balm with this. It lasts until it’s time for food, when I completely remove and reapply it.
What I like about it
The formula is magnificent! It’s the Matte X formula and it’s soooo pigmented and the second best lippie stix formula (the first is the Satin Luxe formula which WTF bring it back!). The shade is a shade I often wear, so brownie points on that.
What could be better
I have no real complaints, minus the brand swatches. I do find that it’s hard for me to wear this on a day-to-day basis, as it seems to dress everything up. When I wear this shade, I make sure everything else about my makeup is minimal.
Joy Factor
On a scale of 1-10, this Lil Lippe Stix is a 7.
