Today (June 20th) is the Summer Solstice, the day when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky. As a result, we will get 15 hours of sunlight! I can’t wait to get to yoga! That brings me to this review of the The Farmacy Skin Dew Hydrating Essence Mist ($44.00 for 3.3 fl. oz/97 ml), which will definitely come in handy today.
Let’s first get into the packaging. I am a sucker for packaging and I think a lot of people are. Sometimes, presentation is a big deal, especially for a higher end product, and Farmacy got it right on this one. The Skin Dew Essence Mist is packaged beautifully, encased in a cardboard cover, and another piece that opens up to the farmers’ bio. Learn more about the process of making the Skin Dew Essence on Farmacy’s beautiful website here. It’s quite fascinating.
Key ingredients:
-Echinacea GreenEnvy™: A unique, patent-protected variant of echinacea purpurea.
-Horsetail Juice: Helps freshen and tone the skin while providing both antioxidant and skin soothing benefits.
-Kiwi Fruit Extract (rich in Vitamin C, Potassium, and Magnesium: Protects the skin from the damaging effects of pollution and helps improve the skin’s barrier function.
-Natural Polymer: Forms an airy veil that helps to refresh and set makeup by stopping oil migration, resulting in a more radiant appearance throughout the day.
This plant-based essence mist is supposed to:
- Replenish radiance and moisture while also setting makeup
- Protect the skin from the damaging effects of pollution and help improve the skin’s barrier function
- Protect and firm the skin by inhibiting the enzymes that break down collagen
- Normalize the skin pigmentation process to promote a more evenly toned complexion
As far as I am able to physically tell, the mist certainly does the first thing, replenish radiance. I use this after cleansing in the morning. While testing, this mist took the place of my Missha First Treatment Essence Mist and it’s like I haven’t skipped a beat. I have oily skin so I let this dry down before I use my Shark Sauce. As it’s drying, you can definitely feel the peppermint at work; it’s cooling, soothing, and refreshing. I haven’t used this over makeup because I have oily skin and generally wear matte makeup with powder over it and don’t wish to disturb that by adding moisture. As far as evening out my complexion, I have been working really hard to get rid of my acne scars, mainly by exfoliating and prevention. My scars are fading due to a number of things, and it sure doesn’t hurt if this helps out.
I spray the essence mist 9-10 times on my face. It does have an herbal-like smell to it which fades if you are following it up with something else in your skincare routine. On its own, it does linger but I love the smell.
I’m looking forward to trying other products in the line! Happy summer!
