So I am sitting here on All Hallows Eve, surfing Netflix for horror movies worth my time (that’s my favorite genre) and I realize that there aren’t very many. The one’s that are worth it, I have already watched… years ago! That has absolutely nothing to do with this post besides that fact that I am watching/listening to a really bad horror movie (Hansel vs. Gretel) as I type this. This experience, however, is the opposite of what I feel about ColourPop’s Ultra Matte in Mama ($6.00) and their Ultra Satin Lip in Calypso ($6.00).
When I purchased Calypso, it was called Gypsy. Confusing when I was looking for it again, but the page seems to redirect to Calypso. I reckon better safe than sorry! Not sure what the reasoning behind that was but I can guess. Calypso is described as a mid-tone pinky nude and it pulls that way on my dark skin. It is an Ultra Satin Lip so it dries down just a bit, but not completely and does transfer. I did have to blot Calypso in order for it not to seem too cool on me. I don’t find it particularly moisturizing but it’s not drying either. Their Ultra Satin line is a great compromise for people that find their Ultra Mattes too drying.
I have talked about Mama before and did a preview post of it a few weeks back. It’s a true burnt orange according to ColourPop and was brighter than I thought it would be. It’s still quite beautiful and definitely on time for fall and Halloween and even though it’s orange, it’s wearable.

Both colors are easy to apply and opaque. Always what I expect from ColourPop!
