Bite Beauty Edgy Neutrals ($26.00 each) is a limited edition collection, however, there are some repromotes, including Molasses that I already own and adore. When I first saw the Edgy Neutrals collection, I side-eyed it because I didn’t think the colors would suit me. I went in Sephora and swatched five of the eight available shades.
Right off the bat, my eyes went toward Portobello. I had it in my head that it looked similar to Molasses on my pigmented lips, but nope! They are quite different. The collection includes:
Enoki: golden beige
Cremini: milk chocolate
Porcini: rich caramel
Molasses: rich toffee (reviewed here)
Portobello: deep golden brown
Honeycomb: beige nude (I think I can rule this one out based on the color scheme on the Sephora website)
Thistle: mauve infused taupe (sounds promising but maybe too cool for me. I do love my mauves, though)
Cava: lilac beige (sounds and looks too cool for my undertones but willing to swatch!)
The only one of these that looked flattering on my lips was Portobello. It reminded me of the whole 90s brown lipstick trend, which doesn’t seem to be going anywhere in 2017. I am still sticking to my ‘this is the most moisturizing lipstick I have ever tried’ exclamation and if you don’t have any Amuse Bouche lipsticks, you should definitely invest.
