So I made my list, checked it twice, and still forgot my makeup bag 😒. Note to self: don’t use the makeup you intend to travel with for travel day!
I didn’t realize I had forgotten my makeup bag until we were landing. I tried to mask my frustration by exclaiming that we were going shopping when we landed. I wanted to pick items that I actually wanted and that I could potentially use as multitaskers to keep costs low. I added all the items to my cart and paid for pick-up.
One of the brand new-to-me items I picked up was the Natasha Denona Mini Bronze eyeshadow palette. I had this item on my wishlist and was happy to see they had it in stock.
I also picked up the Kaja Play Bento Cream Bronzer, Powder Blush and Highlighter Sculpting Trio — a blush, highlighter, and contour cream in one. I got the darkest one: Mochamallow. I had my fingers crossed that all of the shades would work for me. I hadn’t previously ever tried any of their products before, but was pleasantly surprised at how well they performed.
I’ve also had my eyes on the Too Faced Better than Sex eyeliner. The brush applicator is what specifically appealed to me. I’m a big fan of liquid eyeliners with brush applicators because of how easy they are to use. I really like it so far!
For foundation, I went with something I’ve tried before and knew what shade would work. I’ve previously used Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation before and it’s fantastic! You can read all about that here.
I needed something to apply everything with, and as I mentioned before, I wanted to keep costs low. So buying a bunch of makeup brushes was out of the question. I was initially just going to buy a makeup sponge, but came across the Sephora Collection Total Coverage Blending Sponge Set. I applied everything with the sponges or my fingers. Perfect for my needs!
Not shown in the group picture above is the NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Starwoman. I have these in a few other shades and really like the quality, finish, and formula.
I repurchased Milk Makeup’s KUSH Fiber Brow Gel — I figured this was the most cost effective and appropriate for the humidity. These brows don’t budge once they dry down and I think pencil brows would have been compromised by the heat. Check out my review on that.
I also purchased a mini Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (Hazelnut) and a mini container of the Hourglass Translucent Setting Powder for setting my under-eye concealer. Here’s a photo of me wearing everything I purchased. I didn’t buy mascara and chose to wear falsies everyday. I brought them and that made me force myself to use them.
It’s a bit hard to see the details, so once I got home, I used most of everything I bought to show you all what great buys these were.
I’m using everything I bought in Miami with the exception of a different lip product — ColourPop Fresh Kiss Lip Gloss in Spritz Me and a different brow product (ABH Dip Brow).
While I was highly annoyed that I forgot my makeup bag and had to go buy all new things, I am very happy with all of my new purchases.
