Golden Goddess: Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic Eyeshadow Pencil in Metallic Golden Taupe (Review)

I am really digging the Make Up For Ever Aqua Matic Eyeshadow Pencil in Metallic Golden Taupe. The color is gorgeous, the longevity is pretty awesome, and application is pretty easy.

I applied the color to my lids around 7 am. I just used sweeping motions with the pencil and blended it out with my fingers. I blended the color into my crease with a fluffy brush and lined my lids with the Clio Kill Black Eyeliner Pen. My waterline is lined with a Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner Pencil in Black, and I’ve got Lancome Hypnose Drama in Excessive Black on my lashes.  It took me roughly 10 minutes!

The texture of the pencil is like a cream consistency. It will dry up fairly quickly, so whatever you want to do with it, you need to do it fast, or use it last. By quickly, I mean about 7 or 8 minutes. But once it’s dry, you can’t manipulate it, and it can only be removed with makeup remover (I use Lancome Bifacil).

Aqua Matic is a waterproof and smudgeproof eye shadow that comes in an automatic retractable pencil. Thanks to its integrated sharpener the tip is always sharped as desired. Is it waterproof? Absolutely

Is it smudgeproof? Yep, it doesn’t move after you’ve applied it and let it dry.

Is it easily blendable? Before it dries down maybe, but I haven’t tested this with other shadows to see if it blends with others well.

Is coverage intense and even? Very, very pigmented, so I’d say yes. Even coverage is easy to obtain.

Is there transfer to the upper lid? I didn’t experience any transfer, but I did notice creasing at the end of the day and my oily lids had partially defeated this shadow. 

I’d totally buy more of these and would like to see them in matte colors.
