This blue baby, the Marcelle Waterproof Eyeliner in Electric Blue ($11.00), came to me courtesy of Angela over at beautyandthecat.com. From looking over the products on their site, the brand Marcelle reminded me a lot of the Italian brand, Kiko.
The brand description of the eyeliner:
For impeccably lined eyes anywhere, anytime!
Perfectly blendable, its creamy formula allows for a precise and intensely coloured line. The smooth texture of this waterproof eyeliner virtually glides on the skin and stays put all day long, resisting to water, humidity and heat. Long-lasting, it is nonetheless easily removed with any Marcelle eye make-up remover. Available in a matte or pearlized finish.
Hypo-allergenic and perfume free.
I was pleasantly surprised at how bright it was. I almost thought it was too bright (definitely too bright for work!) but on my leisurely days…? Hell yes! I wore this alone with no other real makeup. I opted for a simple cat eye and some mascara. I also filled my brows, which I should never leave the house without doing! That sheen you spy on my face isn’t glow: it’s the effect of the sweltering humidity! I instantly felt like Cleopatra or something; so exotic looking! Definitely ready for a festival.

As I was out running my errands I was wearing shades, but as soon as I took them off — all eyes on me! This eyeliner is definitely an eye-catcher! If you’re an attention w**** or just want to be noticed, this electric blue will definitely do the trick! I kind of just wanted to distract from the fact that I wasn’t wearing foundation (or lipstick, which is highly unusual)!
Application was so smooth! It probably took me less than a minute to apply. It is very creamy, but amazingly when I got back home, it hadn’t moved (as you can see)! It did remove quite easily but I was very impressed with the formula, nevertheless. If you don’t bother it, it won’t move.
I had never heard of the brand, Marcelle, but after a quick google search, it appears to be an American company established in 1874 and currently based in Canada. I could be wrong about that, but I did a shipping quote and it was over $18.00. I believe this came in Angela’s Birchbox, where they offer free shipping on the eyeliner.
