Hey ya’ll! When Fenty came out with their bronzers a month or so ago, I had just purchased Benefit’s Hoola Toasted Bronzer. There aren’t many bronzers for dark skin that actually even show up on dark skin, or do what they are supposed to do: warm up the skin, giving you a beautiful sunkissed, toasty look. As delighted as I was when Benefit’s bronzer worked out for my skin tone, I couldn’t help but be excited about Fenty’s new releases.
I swatched the two darker shades of the Fenty Bronzer and compared them to Hoola Toasted.
As you can see, Coco Naughty would not work as a bronzer on me, and Mocha Mami pulls very, very red. It actually reminded me a lot of the Mac Taraji Glow Blush. I ended up passing on it, because it just wasn’t what I was looking for in a bronzer, plus I couldn’t bring myself to buy it just to use it as a blush. I like how Hoola Toasted is more neutral but still actually warms up my face. I can also contour with Hoola Toasted.
Fenty has released additional shades of their products before. They released eight shades of this bronzer, which is still way more than any other brand would have released, but I’d love to see something for dark skin tones that isn’t so red.
