I was excited to try the My Scheming Raw Job’s Tears Brightening Black Mask because it looked all scientificky and I have previously had great experiences with My Scheming sheet masks.
My skin type
Oily, acne scars that are clearing up but still pretty dark.
What it’s supposed to do
Brighten and soothe, and of course moisturize. There is some anti-aging foolishness on the packet also but definitely take that with a grain of salt. I expected this mask to give me temporary brightening effects, which it did. It faded after about 10 minutes but I still felt pretty radiant.
Ingredients
See photo above; there are notable brightening ingredients in the mask.
How I use it
I left this mask on for 20 minutes. After about five minutes, I started to feel a cooling effect. There was a moderate amount of essence left over in the mask that I rubbed all over my neck.
What I like about it
The price, first and foremost. I purchased this from Everyday Beauty in NYC for $1.99. I also loved the fit. My Scheming make some of the best-fitting masks for my face. It left my face moisturized pretty well and as I mentioned above there was temporary brightening due to the suction of the mask I call The Bandaid Effect. I do reckon that with consistent use, you might see long term brightening.
What could be better
It smells like Fritos. Yeah, the corn chips. Did not like that, but otherwise, it was a damn good mask.
Joy Factor
On a scale of 1-10, this mask was a 6. It would be higher but Fritos!
