I was able to purchase The Balm Meet Matte Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick (reg. $17.00) over the Black Friday/Cyber Monday Weekend at 50% off… Man! I can’t believe that was over a month ago! I picked up colors that I thought might flatter my skin tone: Trustworthy, Loyal, and Sentimental.

My skin type
As far as my lips are concerned, my lips are naturally dry. I have developed a dependency on lip balm. I almost always apply lip balm before I wear liquid lipsticks.
The Formula
The formula is a velvety, mousse-like texture. I smells delicious, like cake! It goes on semi-opaque and each color needed a different number of layers before the color became fully opaque. These do transfer, so I am aware of that as I am eating and drinking throughout the day.
How I use it
Application is pretty standard. The lipsticks have a doe foot applicator you just swipe across your lips. I use it on its own without any help from lip liners.
Performance
Trustworthy has the best application in my opinion it applies nearly opaque and is forgiving to dry lips. I really love the color as it can definitely be a great nude option for my skin tone. Trustworthy has made its way into my bag on a number of occasions. It needs to be reapplied after eating (and sometimes drinking) but can be applied right over the old.
Sentimental was the most disappointing of the three – not that it was bad but it went on very streaky and remained semi-opaque. I’m still working to love this one. I find that I need to remove the lipstick before reapplying because my lips dry out.
Loyal performed similar to Trustworthy, with the exception that it goes on less opaque.
