Can you just have a look at those brows? Some of the best brows I ever drew.
My natural brows are sparse. Like super sparse. Years ago, I went and got brow tattoos from this “interesting” office in Coral Gables. I thought because it was Coral Gables, it should be fine and most importantly, high quality. The quality was fine, it was just a not-so-pleasing experience. As tattoos do, mine faded to pretty much nothing after about three years. Mind you, I was not told that I needed to get them retouched ever. So I have settled on using brow products to fill in my brows. The ColourPop Brow Pencil in Black N’ Brown ($5.00) took me a minute to get around to because I had been using the Make Up For Ever Aqua Brow, as well as Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow – both superb products.
I will apologize for the sucky photo of the pencil; the other end of it has a spoolie brush for blending and grooming, which would be unnecessary for me, as it turns out.
The formula is really, really creamy. Too creamy really, and it really takes some practice to get this looking right if you have sparse brows. The first three or four times I used the pencil it came out looking super bold and unrealistic and I went through a phase of abandoning and wanting to throw the pencil. I realized it takes a very light hand, and a complete rejection of the spoolie brush. As it turns out, the spoolie brush on sparse brows just removes the color, and you have to sit there and just draw them all over again.
So, to recap, if you have sparse brows and insist on using the brow pencil, use a light hand and reject and rebuke the spoolie. Once you do, your brows will be bold and beautiful.
