After my stint with Charlotte Tilbury’s Mona Lisa, my interest has peaked with cream eyeshadows. There’s no real reason for it besides I stayed away from them for a long time thinking I wouldn’t like using it. I was aware of Chanel’s Illusion D’Ombre shadows but was a little bit turned off because of the descriptive phrase “intensely shimmering long wear eyeshadow.” The long wear part I loved, but the shimmer part made me reluctant.
From the brand:
The intensely shimmering long-wear eyeshadow offers true versatility. An innovative gel texture that is both soft and cushiony allows it to be worn as an eyeshadow or eyeliner. Includes a specially designed shadow/liner brush, developed specifically for the unique formula.

The first thing I noticed was how intensely orange it looked in the jar. The second thing I noticed was that the shimmer wasn’t as overwhelming as I thought it would be; it was actually pretty subtle and I loved it right away. It actually appears peach on me. It looks so dark in the jar but it actually looks different on my skin tone. I just had to ask Angela from Beauty and the Cat to help me show how different this looks on different skin tones. Stay tuned for our upcoming review.
I also had a chance to test out the two other shadows in the collection: New Moon and Fleur de Pierre. They are both very pretty as well. New Moon looks like it has to be layered for my skin tone. It was the only one that rubbed off and was barely visible by the time I got home.
