Summer summer summertime! Remember that song?
Well, summertime is right around the corner, but with this awesome weather lately, it feels like it’s already here. This new nail polish I acquired is right on time as well. The YSL La Laque Couture Nail Lacquer ($27.00) in Jaune Babouche was on my list, but at the last minute I opted for Brun Henne and I’m glad I did (I still might get the Jaune Bobouche actually). I have been wearing it for three days and it’s still going pretty strong. For me, manicure chip in two days tops. I have yet to paint my nails myself and they last me more than two days.
I did not use a base coat and one coat was plenty opaque. I topped it off with Sally Hansen’s Miracle Gel Top Coat, which I will use as a top coat from now on with all my manicures. I really think it makes a difference when using regular nail polishes as opposed to her gel ones, which I feel have staying power on their own (so I’m glad I found a use for it!). I just love this color against my skin tone and am excited to report I don’t own any other nail polish in a similar color. The polish applied evenly with no streaks and as I said before, one coat was enough. For it’s uniqueness in color, application, and longevity, this one gets an A from me, even with the price. I’m looking forward to experimenting with other polishes from YSL.
I purchased this online from saksfifthavenue.com, shipping was free (score!).
